the race that Yahuah has set before you" Hebrews 12:1
I sensed this school year was going to be different. I am starting to see the reality of that sensation.
It is after 10 on Monday night. I had my last first day of grad school class (read 100 pages by Monday and an assignment due Saturday night- oh boy). I still have Tuesday and Wednesday night of class...I am set to graduate in May 2010 with my Master's of Science in Education. It wouldnt be accurate of me to say that grad school hasnt been challenging but I would be lying if I said I have been giving it my best. I havent. The past couple weeks as I've been thinking about goals for this year, one of them academically was to prioritize grad school more than I did last year. Yah put me in grad school, and I know He will see me through till the end of it. I dont want to just skirt by though, I want to finish this year strong. I want to finish my college career being able to say that I gave it my best. I care about my relationship with my Savior, ministry, relationships with people, etc but I need to care about everything He blesses my life with. So my best has to be spread out. I have to balance out my priorities. That will mean saying "no" or "I cant" or "thanks anyway" etc more often than I care to, to certain people and things I care a lot about. I have already had to do it numerous times. I cant be every where at once.
We talked in class tonight about our teacher's expectations of not only being physically there, but mentally there. How often is that the case for many facets of life? I tend to show up for as many things as I can physically. Am I always mentally there though? Even with prayer and quiet times...nope, guilty. I am physically there. I have my bible open, I am reading, I am trying to look up words and deeper meaning. How often though do I let the distractions of my mind subside and really allow myself to be mentally wherever I am, and not in every other place?
its not about a juggling act for me, its about learning to find that balance.
He will show me. He will guide me. He will comfort me. He will carry me. He will hold me. He will love me...always and forever, talk about someone that knows how to balance.
A- My dad always says "wherever you are, there you are, be there". Try it with me ladies and gentlemen, whether it is class, chuch, quiet time, coffee date, etc- be all there, give that person, place, etc your best, respecting Him with what He trusts us with.
R- How often do we daydream? Let our minds wander? Get distracted? How can we captivate those thoughts?
M-Phillipians 3:14
"I press on towards the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenwards in Messiah"
