I notice.

Ever since becoming a believer I notice a lot more, I pay attention more, I am aware of my surroundings, of people, of myself, but especially my God.

As the summer's hot days are slowly fading and indian summer autumn is becoming more consistent, I am realizing how much I really do pay attention to things. Even small things... like what plants bloom in which month, what bugs come out when (august is terrible for mosiquitos fyi), what drinks and food I like depend on the weather(its definitely caramel apple cider time again), the same goes for yankee candles even, on my fireplace hearth right now is a harvest scented one.

I was driving home today looking at the Master artist's handiwork. The trees still havent fully changed colors, but they are starting to. Splashes of orange, yellow, maroon, and dark green against the beautiful backdrop of the blue ridge mountains. Goldenrod in different shades line the roads. It is starting to get darker early again. The air is more crisp, and it makes it easier to breathe (humidity and allergies are no fun).

I was thinking about how I notice so many things that I dont recall ever noticing before, before living for a purpose higher than myself. Know what else I didnt recognize as much? My own sin. I recognize it now. I notice it a lot, yet probably not as much as I should. Its not so pleasant as golden rod and caramel apple cider.

I guess though, on the plus side... recognizing sin makes me recognize my need for a Savior. Each and every single day, and He is more beautiful than my eyes can behold.
