"Babylon"

Well during my break today I decided to look at the news. Which isnt really different than any other day, but one of today's articles totally fired me up.

It was called Mate debate: Is monogamy realistic?

Realistic by who's standards? It certainly is by the creator of this universe. Who created man and woman. So do I think monogamy is realistic- absolutely if we're going by our God's standards. Does that mean a husband or wife is going to be perfect every day of their marriage? No, and does God give reasons for divorce? In certain instances.

But I am not writing this to talk about marriage, infidelity, divorce, etc.
The major issue, from which all things stem= SIN. The problem is that this world teaches that everything is all about US! Me, mine, I, how do I feel, what do I want, what makes me happy, how do I look, etc.

This Babylon that we live in is so perverted by sin, look at any of the news headlines. Murder, Rape, Missing Persons, Bombing, Gangs, Robbery, Porn, Money Obsessed, War- I could go on, but I wont- kinda makes me sick. But as a believer, and a disciple of THE Almighty God, I have a way bigger purpose and mission than to just turn my nose up, act holier than thou, and/or run away from it all and live in a blue lagoon(that last part has crossed my mind before, not gonna lie)

I have a job to stand up, stand firm, and represent my God- just like Daniel did so many years ago...

Our Sunday night bible study, at "the nut house" is studying Daniel. It is a Beth Moore study about integrity and not being modern day daughters of Babylon. You see, Babylon was a place of luxury, of beauty, youth, and wealth. Like Daniel did back then, we also face SO many temptations, trials, darts, pressures to compromise our faith, our beliefs, our God. Daniel was presented with opportunities to compromise all the time, but he didn't. Neither should we.

As a called out people, neither should we disregard what God's word says about anything to anyone- murder, marriage, sexuality, identity, money, and even more importantly what He says about Himself. Stand up for Him, stand up for His truths, no matter what this world trys to tell you.

A- What do we participate in? Who do we represent? Who do we imitate? What do we do to make a deliberate attempt not to be overcome by this world?
R- We all sin, even if we are saved. But do we hate sin? Do we want Yah revealing it in our lives? When we see it? When we hear about it?
M- 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
